In a United Kingdom survey of the responses of adults exposed to high frequency sound in an occupational context for the Health and Safety Executive in 2001, it was concluded that the studies were inadequate to establish guidelines for safe exposure. The Mosquito's manufacturer relies on these inconclusive adult studies to justify the safety of the device, a device aimed at the youth. We at Bite Back are calling on the Government to do a conclusive study on all age ranges, including toddlers and babies in the womb, to make sure that these devices are in fact safe.
We also would like someone to justify the giving of a IG Nobel Peace prize to the designers of the mosquito. The device isn't peaceful at all, it deliberately causes harm and discomfort, and causes division within communities.
